Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Every week there is a new topic and this week’s topic is: Top Ten Favorite Heroines From Books. Here are my top ten favorites! They are in no particular order.
.) Meira from Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch. Meira is true a warrior. She is tough and will do what ever it takes to take back her Kingdom.
.) Tris from Divergent, Insurgent, Allegiant by Veronica Roth. I love Tris! She is so strong and so brave, and even after all the things she’s been through, she refuses to give up. She’ll even risk her own life for the greater good.
.) Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Moackingjay by Suzanne Collins. Katniss in another incredibly brave heroine. She traded her life for her sister’s when she volunteered to take her place in the Hunger Games and she does everything she can to keep Peeta stay alive and safe in Catching Fire. She seems to always put everyone else ahead of herself.
.) Marie- Laure from All the Light we Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. Marie-Laure is a blind girl in Brittany, France during the second world war. Although she has lost her sight, she doesn’t ever let herself become weak. She still manages to help the resistance and deliver secret messages for her uncle and housekeeper even though it could get her arrested or killed. She feels her way through the streets and remembers her paces to get her where she needs to go. She has a strength that we could all use a little of.
.) Isabelle Lightwood from The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. She is always so sure of herself and confident and don’t really care about what anyone else thinks. Gotta love her!
.) Hermione Granger from The Harry Potter books by J.K Rowling. She is incredibly smart and witty and is always sure of herself and she’ll always fight for her friends and does so without being asked.
.) Emma from Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and Hollow City by Ransom Riggs. Emma is a girl who never gives up, even when things look bleak. She’s not afraid to ask for help when she needs it, but she’ll continue on without it if she has to. And if you are someone she cares about, then she’ll do whatever she can to help you. I’d be honored to be one of her close friends.
.) Jax from Broken Skies by Theresa Kay. She is an Unstoppable force who will do whatever it takes to get her brother back, even it that means working with the enemy. She’ll go to whatever lengths necessary for her family.
.) Alina from The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo. Alina faces many challenges, such as The Darkling and the temptation to join his side and the search and thirst for power. She makes hard decisions even though she knows the consequences will be grave and she fights with the gift she is given.
.) Katy from The LUX series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. She fights for the people she loves and even concerns herself with the troubles of others. If she can help you, she will. And she will get down to the bottom of something even if it threatens to kill her.
