Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish that centers around lists.

This week is all about music & books. So there are so many options. I.e.Books you’d give theme songs too, books that feature musicbooks you wish were songs, or anything along those lines.

I’ve chosen to do ‘books you’d give theme songs to’ and ‘books that feature music.’

On to the list!

1. Shatter Me Trilogy by Tahereh Mafi (Theme song: Titanium, Sia)

shatter me series

A girl who grows strong mentally and physically throughout this series and nothing, not even an evil government is going to take her down. She is TITANIUM!

2. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before duology by Jenny Han (Theme song: You Belong With Me, Taylor Swift)

To all the boys duo

This one is about two people who need to be together, but no one else can see it for most of the book except the reader. Of course my opinion swayed a little in P.S I Still Love you. NO SPOILERS HERE!

3. The Raven Cycle (1-3) by Maggie Stiefvater (Theme song: The Heart Wants What it Wants, Selena Gomez)

This song is a perfect example of wanting something that could hurt you in the end. Blue has that internal struggle for most of this series and I feel for her. It hurts me too. I love Gansey!

4. How to Love by  Katie Contugno (Theme song: The Story of Us, Taylor Swift)

The romance in this story was a tragedy. At the very beginning of the relationship it was something sort of good, but as the story went on, it was just not good for either of the people involved.

5. Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard (Theme song: Bad Blood, Taylor Swift.)

Glass Sword

The lyrics in this song were too perfect not to use for this book. And if you’ve read this book, you know very well the two characters are who have very bad blood now. Excuse me while I go cry. I never wanted this!

6. The Fine Art of Pretending by Rachel Harris (Theme song: Make You Feel My Love, Adele)

 17696131

When this song was used in the book, it seemed very fitting for the story. Two people who love each other, but something is holding one of them back.

7. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (Theme song: Girl on Fire, Alicia Keys)

I had to guys. I mean, Katniss is the Girl on Fire.

Books that feature music!

8. Ready Player One by Earnest Cline

9969571

If you love the 80’s era, pick up this book!

9. Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson

I really liked some of the songs in the playlists featured in this book. Check it out!

10. Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson

Since You've Been Gone

I’m sensing a pattern here Ms. Matson. Keep up the good work!

That’s my list. That was a lot harder than I expected! Share your thoughts or posts below.:)
